Thrown and Altered bowl with Embroidery Silk
This is a handmade bowl made from recycled clay - lots of different high firing scraps reconstituted into a new clay body and once fired to save every scrap of resources. It doesn’t behave very well and is a pest to throw, but it’s important that I have an ecological agenda as far as I can in an energy hungry process.
It is 6cm high and 20cm in diameter. Glazed on the inside with Amaco plum and Sea Salt for a lush fluxy finish.
Please note there are speckles of glaze and flecks throughout the clay body because this is reclaimed clay which has had previous lives.
